Walter was the best brother-in-law and uncle anyone could ask for. His endless bravery, courage, determination and passion to keep on working at the job he loved, truly amazed us every day. He will always remain close in our hearts and we'll miss our Wa so much! Patrice, Tom, Emily

Walter will be missed by all who knew and loved him. We can only imagine how difficult the last eight years have been for Walter, Jeanne and the girls, taking one day at a time, as Jeanne once said. Yet Walter continued to function, even driving down to comfort us when we recently lost our brother George. Walter taught us how to deal with a terminal illness with humor and courage. We believe he's in a better place...free of pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne, Nicole, and Alexa.

Walter will be greatly missed by all the people he brought joy to throughout his life. Although I did not stay in close touch with him over the years, sometimes our paths crossed and for a few brief moments we reconnected. I first worked with Walter in 1977 at a graphics house in Fairfield. His talent launched him into his career and from then on, he was the best at what he did. He was kind, caring and someone you always enjoyed being with. It was an honor to know him. My deepest sorrow go out to his family and friends.

Walter will have a place in our heart for the rest of our lives. His devotion to family, sense of humor, and his ability to maintain his dignity throughout his illness. He never showed fear about his cancer. To him it was another part of life that must be endured. He had a lot of support from his wife and his family. Bruce and I worked with him for many years. Bruce at Colangelo and I at Playtex. We are honored to have known Wally and his wife Jeanne. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeanne, Nicole and Alexa.

Jeanne, Nicole, Alexa, and all the rest of the Dankowski family -- Our hearts go out to you at this time of loss. We too have fond memories of Walter, beginning back when he first started dating our friend Jeanne. Later, our two boys were close in age to their girls, and we always enjoyed it every time we got together with them. As others have mentioned, his sense of humor, love of life, and love of his family will be the things we most remember about him.

Walter's unwavering courage, ever-present sense of humor, generosity and devotion to his family never diminished but only seemed to strengthen even in the face of an unrelenting illness. Walter was a man who I am honored and grateful to have known. I know all who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss him so very much. Jeanne, Nicole and Alexa - our thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family.

Our memories of Walter are of a kind, considerate and helpful
neighbor. We remember the many
winters he would offer his help
when our snowblower would not
work. He even offered to lend us his snowblower. We will treasure the memories of
the many conversation we had when we met at our mailboxs or were cutting the grass. Hold on to your memories, and let them guide you during this time of sadness.
Have hope in tomorrow, have faith in the everlasting, and take comfort in the love of friends and family.

Walter and I met around 1982 as co-workers. We were hired as a team for another company in 1984. He met Jeanne at a party my husband (boyfriend at the time)and I use to have each summer. They got married before us on April fools day--appropriate for Walter.
Walter was my one of my favorite co-workers-we were a great team. Our personlities complimented each other and we got along great. I am so sorry for your loss Jeanne and to Nicole and Alexa...your dad was a thoughtful funny guy that made me laugh every time we were together.

As a colleague and friend of Walter in the early 1980's his Freudian sense of humor always cracked me up. Wish we kept more in touch with each other.
