DOLE, Walter
Walt was born in Sacramento on Aug. 4, 1947 and passed away on April 24, 2010. He graduated from Elk Grove H.S. in 1965. He worked for Wells Fargo Bank for 25 years and recently retired from there. He is survived by 2 brothers, Jim and Mike Dole, 4 sisters, Patricia Solander, Penny Dodds, Diana Darrington and Jean Dole. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Reg, Amy and Bonnie Dole and his brother, Rob. Funeral services will be Monday, May 3rd at 10:00am at Andrew & Greilich, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento.

I had had the pleasure of knowing and working with Walt since 1984 at Wells Fargo. He was beloved by all. Walt was one of the most dependable people I have ever known and always had a great attitude. I will miss seeing him in the halls and saying “hi” and will always have fond memories of Walt. You have my deepest condolences for your loss.

My condolences to the Dole family for the loss of your brother, uncle and friend. I worked with Walt for 24 years and always looked forward to chatting with daily him on breaks. I enjoyed Walt’s stories of fishing at Union Valley and Ice House with the nephews. I choose to picture Walt eternally surrounded by his beloved family, sitting in the sun with a fishing pole and a stringer full of trout (for his sisters), never sunburned, never “skunked”, never too old to still go camping again. Thanks for sharing dear Walt with us, we’ll remember him well.

I feel so privileged and honored to have known Walt. What a great guy he was! When he first came to Wells Fargo, it didn't take long to notice how terrific he really was. Not only did he stand out as a fantastic worker and a gentleman, but as a friend who was loved and respected by all. And with each wonderful story he would share about his family, you couldn't help but know they were just as special as he was. When Walt introduced me to his sisters Penny & Pat and his nephews, I knew I was right! I feel so fortunate to have known Walt for over 25 years. From our days working together at Wells Fargo, to the daily email messages, birthday greetings, holiday cards, notes, telephone calls, trips to Thunder Valley, to the very special visit we shared in Maui . . . Rick and I had been very blessed by Walter being our neighbor for over 20 years. Walt was always so miticulous in the way he dressed, cleaned his car every weekend and kept his house to perfection. We would talk to him often (as he lived right next door) and he was always so very pleasant. He never said anything negative about others and was always so very kind. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all the family. Rest in Peace now for you are in God's hands.
