Walter was a fine and gentle man with a sense of humour and respect for his fellow beings. We have many fond memories of both you, Bev and Walter when you lived in our community. Those were wonderful years. He is not forgotten, nor are you.

To Bev, Janet and Cathy:
We have fond memories of Walt. We knew him in a number of capacities, especially as the father of our daughter's best friend (Cathy) and as a frequent visitor over the years to our beloved island, Hornby. Through our many contacts with him we found him to be great guy, often with a twinkle in his eye as he told us about his life adventures after retirement. Often the stories involved travels in his 5th wheel with Bev and his good friends, Jack Armour, Bill Blake and spouses.
We were pleased once in a while to supply from our beach a piece of yellow cedar to which Walt would apply his fine talents as a carver. In his later years, we missed him as it became difficult for him to come to Hornby. Our thoughts and condolences go to each of you, Bev, Janet, Cathy and the rest of the family

We were very sad to read of Walter's passing. He was a first-class fellow, much admired and when you lived at the Villas we enjoyed so very much knowing you both and have many happy memories of those years. Our deepest sympathy to you Bev and your family. Sincerely, Tony and Marlene Freeman
