Walter FOGEL Obituary
After a brief, valiant, battle on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of seventy-eight. Loving son of the late Abe and the late Sarah Fogel. Beloved father and father-in-law of David and Petra, Steve and Joy, Lewis and Mindy. Adored Zaida of Ashley, Jordan, Jarred and fiancée Amanda, Jonathan, Rebecca, Shyler and Jacqueline. Proud Great-Zaida of Abbey. Dearest brother and brother-in-law of Myra Fogel and Herbert Rubin, Helene Fogel, the late Miriam and the late Maurice Baron. Cherished uncle of Cheryl, Marcie, Joanna, and Erica. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his great-nieces, great- nephews, family and many dear friends. The family wishes to acknowledge, with sincerest gratitude, Dr. Black, Dr. Melnychuk, Christina, Maria, Rosie, and Matula for their care, love and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at the Shaar Shalom Congregation Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Duvernay. Shiva at 1295 Carol Crescent, Laval. To acknowledge Walter's seventeen years of dedicated service to the Jewish General Hospital as a devoted volunteer, contributions in his memory may be made to the "Walter Fogel Celebration Fund for the Emergency Department" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

Our Condolences to the whole Fogel family. I just heard the sad news of Walters passing and I am in shock. I have so many wonderful memories from the years we spent together and I will cherish them always. You are all in our thoughts.

As an educator I knew Walter as a Commisioner and when I was a patient at the JGH Walter was there for my wife and myself. He was always devoted to his tasks at hand. He will be missed and remembered. To his family I extend my sincerest sympathies.
