Walter Semple Gow

GOW, Dr. Walter Semple Peacefully at his home on Friday, May 14, 2010 in his eighty-sixth year. Loving husband of Evelyn (nee Watt) for sixty years. Much loved father of Janet and her husband Mike duManoir, James Gow and his wife Moira McGinley, Beverley and her husband Timothy Wilson, Barbara and her husband Douglas Sutherland and Ronald Gow and his wife Cheryl. Walter was a proud grandfather of Kevin, Stephen and Margot du Manoir, Emily, Matthew and Adam Gow, Jamie and Robbie Wilson, Katie, James and David Sutherland, Rachel, Ryan, Julia and Jasmin Gow. Survived by his brother Andrew; predeceased by his sister Jean Fielding and brothers Ken, Frank and Donald. Walter was a native of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He attended Acadia University and graduated in medicine from McGill University. He practiced medicine and was a partner at the Peterborough Clinic for thirty-six years. Visitation was held on Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at Comstock Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough. A memorial service took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Murray Street Baptist Church, 175 Murray Street, West, Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, in keeping with Walter's wishes, memorial donations to Murray Street Baptist Church Heritage Fund or Hospice Peterborough would be greatly appreciated.
