I really miss you Walt. Could use a sit down for advice and guidance, as well as a good laugh.
You´re like family.
Love you man.

Im so sorry for your loss I heard so many wonderful things about your dad from brenda when she would bring his cloths in for cleaning at swans..I only wish I would have had the opportunity to meet him..Take peace in knowing that he's with your mother now live on through their memories and continue to make them proud...As Tim mcgraw said, live like you were dying...make everyday count Im sure that's what he would want for the two of you..
May god bless you and guide you through this difficult time..

I knew Walt through his involvement in the VA Campground Association and the Natl Assn of RV Parks & Campgrounds. He was an outstanding businessman, a warm and friendly person and a devoted family man. He was a pleasure to work with and I learned much from our relationship.
Walt, you'll be missed by an entire industry and I know your family and friends will mourn your passing for years to come.
My condolences to your children and entire family. May you rest in peace for eternity.

My connection with Walt probably goes back further than almost anyone else's, but I may be mistaken. I worked summer jobs for this dad at Urbanna Boat & Motor in Urbanna while in high school. He would come and hang around his dad, frequently on Fridays which was our payday. He was only 5 or 6 at that time. If anyone is alive that worked there knows that Walter Boyd was slow to turn over that paycheck. Little Walt was too young to get involved with the repair of boats at that time, but in the following years he learned a lot of business sense from his dad but refined that many times over in the future which enabled him to become the most successful native Middlesex businessman . But he didn't flash it in your face. His smile was always there. He and Ruth Ellen lived across the street from us in Laurel Hill in Urbanna for many, many years. He built it and still owns it. RE was my daughter's second mom. Fortunately, being only 100' or so from our respective decks, we sipped a few on each other's deck. My wife Jane, & I were so sorry to see them move out of the neighborhood, but his success allowed him to get probably the best view of the Rappahannock in the county. RE deserved it. As she was dying in the hospital, I went to her room where Walt was. It wasn't easy, but I felt so good that he needed my shoulder to cry on knowing what was about to happen. I need such a shoulder right now myself. I will be missing you Walt.

Simply an amazing family man! Although our relationship was brief he impacted my life. Our friendship began over JMU Athletics and his support for JMU was unwavering. I feel for his family and will continue to pray for them.

We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hurley through BethPage. He was definitely a business man whose goal was to make families happy. He was very friendly and will be greatly missed. We are so saddened by his untimely death. Our deepest sympathies to his children and family.

Walt did amazing things for the small town community and gave so much of himself, working tirelessly - now he rests. He will be missed more than he will ever know. Fondly, Linda
