Walter Kennedy Obituary

Walter H. Kennedy Jr. passed away on November 19, 2024. He was born on October 7, 1934 in Framingham, MA son of Walter H. Kennedy Sr. and Rose Taraska Kennedy. He was predeceased by both parents and brother Raymond. He is survived by sister Joan, Wife Gail Andrews Kennedy, son Stephen and wife Jennifer, daughter Karen and husband Edgar, daughter Laura and husband Jon. Four grandchildren, Justine, William, Hailey and Christopher and many nieces and nephews.



Walter was a 1952 graduate of Framingham High School where he was a good student and outstanding baseball player. He was drafted into the Army and then recruited by the Army to play baseball for the U.S. over much of Europe.

He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics fan and fan of athletics for the college of the Holy Cross. He was a master of the tailgate. Walter worked for General Motors for 40 years and the worked as a courier manager of Path Labs.

Walter retired at age 72 and he and his wife moved from Boylston, MA to Englewood, FL. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and knew hundreds of songs. He had many good meals, drank many good beers, and sang many good songs with many good friends.

In retirement he sang with several local bands in the Venice, FL area. Walter had a great sense of humor and loved life. This fine looking, hard working, talented, kind and generous man will be laid to rest at a private family service in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston, MA in the spring of 2025. Expressions of sympathy to the Framingham heart study on Mount Wayte Ave, Framingham, Massachusetts.
