In 1976 Wally was my boss at Kolene Corporation. He was always upbeat, and his personality of happiness was inspiring to me. He also was my favorite boss because of his outlook on life. Since then we have always sent Christmas card back-and-forth with a smiley face on it, and I do think of him when I see one!. Keep on Smiling Wally.

Mr. Meier was always kind and caring. I knew him through his daughters Linda and Donna. Through the 50 years he never changed. Such a wonderful man. He will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing him.

It was a privilege to have known Wally and an honor to call him friend. We shared many a long lunch and philosophical conversation over frozen yogurt. He helped me to navigate Boynton Beach as a new transplant from New Jersey and introduced me to some of the best fish and chips around. Sometimes when I felt sad I knew his door was open and I would talk and he would patiently listen and set me right side up again. He always made the time to listen. He taught me much about decency and always had a grateful heart. He shared cute stories as he reminisced about his children and Jeanie. He encouraged me as I watched him embrace life. He had such an adventurous spirit. And even when he had tough days his beautiful spirit shone through. He said he was often impressed by me but it was he who was really the impressive one. I will be forever grateful to have had the good fortune to know him and call him friend and he and his beautiful family will always remain close to my heart.
