It has been several years since I have seen Max, but I remember our times together when we met at Camp Ozark when we were young kids. Being from Houston and similar neighborhoods, we occasionally ran into each other when Kincaid and Memorial High School parties came together. He was always a great guy and a very loyal friend. My family and I have gone through times like these before and I know it is difficult. My prayers go out to all of the family and close friends.

Was blessed to have met Max and his charismatic charm, infectious smile when he and Sarah were on the search for their next Golden Retriever Hunting buddy. Still the only person I know who named their dog after Canadian Thanksgiving - Turkey. Six years have passed and so fortunate to have visited Max & Sarah, daughter and then toddler Molly at the Ranch. It was an honor to have known you Max - RIP - we will sure miss you. Sarah, the girls and family you are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love and sending Big Golden hugs.

I was saddened to hear of Max's passing. My prayers are with Sarah and Max's entire family. I knew you all briefly when you lived on Waring and our dogs played together. You were always such a joy to be around. So sorry for your loss.

July 12, 2016

I had not yet had the opportunity to meet Max, though our paths would have crossed sooner, rather than later. We were related by dog, connected by our mutual passion for all things golden. There are many of us spread across the country another large extended family that manages to keep in touch despite the separation of many miles.

Max's obituary is a touching tribute to the person he was, and the future he should have had was a promising one. However his picture with that smile, really said it all. Whenever we lose someone with so much promise and that much potential, we all suffer in that loss. My heart goes out to all of you who are family and friends. I, and others in this extended canine family of ours share in your grief and understand the depth of your pain.

Peace,

Walt; Leila; Sarah and Family:

May you find comfort in God during this difficult time. Max was a fine young man; full of life with an infectious smile! I know he will forever be missed...

July 12, 2016

I was fortunate to meet Max, Sarah, and Molly through our golden retriever connection. We have Arson, Turk's littermate sister. Max and Sarah were gracious hosts when we visited the ranch, and at a later visit we got to meet Molly, a delightful toddler at the time.

I will miss Max's huge smile and genuine bear hugs. It is such a tragedy that he is gone.

My condolences to the Mischer family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sarah & the Mischer family,

On behalf of those of us who got to you know Max and you through Turk, I can not express our sense of loss, and above all support for you. Max is a shining light, and one that time will never diminish. I am so thankful I got to know Max, and crushed that his passing is tragically soon, and moreso that you are all enduring the loss at this time.

Please know that I am sharing that with you--the pain is very real to myself and all of us from the Golden Retriever world who got to know Max through Turk.

We are here to help--and please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

With deep, deep condolences,

We will keep all of you in our prayers during this difficult time.

My Husband,Walter and I are very saddened at the loss of
Max for his wonderful family and our community.
We never had the privilege of
meeting Max in person; this will be our loss forever.
On July 1, in looking through
the Holocaust Museum Directory, I noticed the
beautiful picture of Max,
and how much he had accomplished for our
beloved Museum. I WROTE HIM
AN EMAIL AT THAT MOMENT; HE
RESPONDED THAT AFTERNOON, AND, TOLD ME THAT HE LOOKED FORWARD TO SHARING SOME
HAPPY MEMORIES OF HIS FAMILY WITH ME.
And,then came the terrible news of his death. We will
never forget him.
My Husband and my Father
knew his Grandfather well.
A truly wonderful family
has suffered a terrible loss.
