Walter Clifford Royce was born March 20, 1948, to Lester and Josie Royce (Evans) in Marquette, Michigan. One of 7 children, he was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, before joining the United States Navy in 1966. He spent nearly 4 years deployed as a Navy Seal in Vietnam. Upon his return, he had a variety of jobs driving wreckers and long-haul trucking, but his main passion was always automotive work. He loved to build and race cars, he truly could fix anything! In 1997 he opened Walt’s Auto Repair in Greeley, Colorado, one of the places he called home for an extended time. In 2006 he closed up shop and moved to Lampe, Missouri, where he would spend the remainder of his years. Continuing to wrench on cars and boats, until he retired in 2010. Walter passed peacefully on July 25th, 2022, with his wife and daughter by his side. His genuinely caring, hilarious, fun personality will be terribly missed. At a future date, a graveside military service will be held at his final resting place, the Missouri Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.

I considered Walt a friend and brother. Yes, Walt did have a good sense of humor that I enjoyed. Those that know him would know to say no they are not, when he would ask if your hands are clean, when he was working in the shop.

God truely blessed me by putting Walt in my life. I worked for him wrenching and him being born the same year as a brother I had, who passed, I also considered Walt a brother to me
