Veronica, Jaclyn and Brandon,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to entire family. We always enjoyed being with Wally on scouting trips. Remember when you guys lived in the apartment in Town and Country Manor. Always a good time sitting around the campfire on the scouting camping trips.
He will be sadly missed but remembered for the Great person he was.

John and I were so sorry to hear of Walter´s passing. We were neighbors growing up in Malden and remember when Wally joined the service. John knew Walter through Deckie.
Wally and Deckie are together now and watching over you all. May your memories give you some comfort.

As our heavy hearts mourn the loss of our dear friend, Wally, wonderful memories of good times spent together will linger in our minds forever. His spunk for life was evident in everything he pursued. In the kitchen, Wally was an adventurous chef. Making pasta, Mac and cheese, blueberry pancakes or lobster rolls, he included a twist on the recipe each time he made it! Building cabinets, redesigning lights, bumping out walls or envisioning new wheelchair designs, Wally attacked every project with zest and vigor! Barn dances, martini parties, boating excursions, trivia night games, anniversary celebrations and simply walking around OSL on a Thursday afternoon are amazing memories we now savor. Our lives have been enriched through our friendship with Wally and Veronica. Rest in peace, Wally. You will live in our hearts forever.
Most Sincerely,
Kathy and Rick Sturges

It is a rare occasion to meet a person like Wally; good-hearted, genuine, genial and a contagious gusto for life. We were very fortunate to meet and become friends with Wally and Veronica through our friends Kathy and Rick Sturges and so enjoyed Wally and Veronica´s company where we shared many a lobster dinner, kayaking, theatre, Jackson Village events, and other adventures when they visited New Hampshire and Maine.
You and Wally complemented each other perfectly Veronica, and Wally´s love of Brandon and Jacklyn were evident in his bright smiles and in the stories he shared. May your many adventures as a family, wife, son, and daughter and their precious memories bring you comfort.
With much love,
~Carol and Paul

I only had the opportunity to meet Mr. Schaffner a few times, but I can see the kind of man he was through Jackie, Brandon, and Aunt Vernie. His love, strength, intelligence, and sense of adventure will continue to shine through them every day. My heart is with you all, and I´m praying for moments of comfort and peace.

It's hard to put into words the sadness we feel at the sudden passing of our dear friend Walter, a client who quickly became so much more. Wally had a rare zest for life, one that touched everyone lucky enough to know him. He didn't just live; he lived life fully with his wonderful wife, children, and friends while embracing each moment with warmth, humor, and heart.
His generosity and genuine spirit made it easy for his family to become ours, and ours his. Wally's absence is already deeply felt. We are grateful for the bond we shared and the laughter he brought into our lives. He is missed more than words can say.
Sending prayers to Veronica, Brandon, and Jaclyn. May you feel warmth, strength and love during this very sad time. God Bless you all!
