1922 - 2018
LAKE WALES - Walter William Sumner, Jr. age 95, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in Miami, Florida.
He was born in Boyce Station, PA. He lived in Homestead, Florida, for 35 years where he retired from the Post Office after 25 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife Violet 'Sue' Sumner and his son Gary W. Sumner, Sr. He is survived by his sister Grace Cain of PA and two daughters, Gloria Haisman-Reda and her husband Kenneth Reda, and Karen Justice, both from the Florida Keys, daughter-in-law Sue Sumner of Bartow, FL, and four grandchildren Gary Sumner, Jr. and David Sumner, Kathleen Aldana and husband Elvis, all from Naples, FL. Jennifer Carlyle and husband Andrew of Lula, GA and nine great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Allen-Beyer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 373000, Key Largo, FL, 33037.

Services will be held at the Sarasota, FL Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
