Walter Weeks Obituary
Edwardsville - Walter Franklin Weeks, Jr., age 78, of Tampa, Florida, and formerly of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born on January 26, 1944, in Alton, IL, the son of the late Walter F. Weeks, Sr. and Marvene (Doil) Weeks. Walter attended Edwardsville High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1966 with a degree in accounting. Walter married Connie A. (Eckerle) Weeks on May 25, 1983, in Clayton, MO. Besides his wife of 39 years, Walter is survived by a son, Mark Weeks & his wife Taylor, of Dallas, TX; step-daughter, Michelle Haines & her husband David, of Charlotte, NC; and four grandchildren, Kelsey Haines, Sophia Haines, Sterling Weeks, and Vaughn Weeks. He spent his career at Shell Oil (New Orleans), Famous Barr (St. Louis), Eisenstadt (Lenox China, St. Louis), and Saks 5th Avenue (St. Louis & Tampa). His passion for photography and genealogy will remain with his family through the generations. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to be made in Walter's honor to: Animal Coalition of Tampa, Salvation Army, or Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa.
