Walter A. Wright, Sr.

Princess Anne-Walter A. Wright, Sr. 80, of Princess Anne, departed this life on Friday, April 15, 2016 at his residence. Born October 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Brice and Bertha Brown-Wright.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Dorothy Leatherbury -Wright; one son, Walter A. Wright, Jr.; six daughters, Rebekah Polk, (Elmer, Jr.), Angelena Wright-Wright (Franklin), Regina Meyer (Ed), Almettrus Wright-Moore (Gentry), Judith Birckhead (Everett, Sr.) and Darlene Wright; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie Wright; one brother, Austin Jones (Marion) and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Shockley.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at The Supreme Council of The House of Jacob, Inc., 13153 Loretto Road, Princess Anne with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6 to 8 pm Friday at Anthony E. Ward, Jr. Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment will be in Israel Memorial Cemetery in Princess Anne.
