Sister Wanda Marie Jordan SNJM, 89, died Dec. 30, 2023, in Lake Oswego. Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at Chapel of the Holy Names at Marylhurst, Lake Oswego.
Born Donna Marie Bryson, Sister Wanda was adopted into the loving family of Robert and Lula Warnack Jordan and raised in Lake Oswego. She joined the Holy Names Sisters in 1953, teaching and serving as principal in elementary schools across Oregon and Washington.
Over time, she worked at both the University of Portland and Gonzaga University supervising student teachers, mostly high school, and was a longtime board member for Marylhurst University and Youth Villages. Gifted with a glorious singing voice, she loved singing and performed with many choirs.
Sister Wanda will be remembered for her love of teaching and joy in mentoring beginning teachers in practical and encouraging ways and for her welcoming spirit.

I knew Sister Wanda Marie as a teacher and musical inspiration at Cathedral School in the late fifties and early sixties when I was a student there. She was always so enthusiastic and upbeat and "tall" to me as a child! Her beautiful spirit surrounded her and could be felt by all who came in contact with her. I´m sure she is singing with the angels in heaven!
