Funeral services for Wanda McBride, 72, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Wills Point Church of Christ with Mr. Russell Harris & Mr. Ed Stover officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. She passed away early Tuesday morning, March 20, 2012, in Wills Point. Wanda was born September 9, 1939, in Athens, Texas, the daughter of Wardo Hendley and Grace Abbott Hendley. She was raised in Eustace where she attended public school. In 1972, she moved to Wills Point. On February 2, 1979, she married Jackie McBride in Wills Point. She was a dental assistant for Dr. George Cramer in Wills Point, retiring in 2002. Wanda loved her family very much and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, playing FreeCell, talking on the phone and traveling. She was a former member of the Red Hat Club in Wills Point. Wanda was a faithful member of the Wills Point Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her father & step-mother, E.W. & Norma Hendley; two sons, Billy Rozelle and Scott McBride; granddaughter, Courtney Howard and a grandson, Jason Wilson. Wanda is survived by her husband, Jack McBride, of Wills Point; mother, Grace Abbott McLendon, of Wills Point; four sons, Wayne Groom & wife, Kathy, of Mabank, Philip Groom & wife, Patricia, of Red Oak, Gregg McBride & wife, Teresa, of Aubrey and Ross McBride & wife, Faye, of Edgewood; four daughters, Linda Groom, of Wills Point, Frankie Wilson & husband, C.W., of Wills Point, Susie Tull & husband, Chuck, of Edgewood and Amy Harris, of Dallas; three brothers, Mickey Hendley & wife, Joanie, of Tyler, Alfred Hendley, of Pittsburg and Ricky Hendley, of Lindale; three sisters, Gail Hall & husband, Jeff, of Grapeland, Bobbie Kennon & husband, Jessie, of LaRue and Sandy Barrett, of Garland; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Gerald Wayne Hoard, Jr., Jason Groom, Jeffrey Todoroff, Coy Wilson, Wayne Groom, III, Mark Groom, Wyatt McBride, Chuck Tull, III, Chris Tull and Kenneth Jeter. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
