Warren Kostak

Warren Kostak, 81, longtime Lake Barrington resident, passed away on March 30, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL on September 24, 1943 to Albert and Loretta Kostak, he grew up in Schiller Park and attended Lane Tech High School where he was a track and field athlete and Eagle Scout. Later he earned a Bachelors degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois and, after graduation, joined the US Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class in the Caribbean Ready Fleet aboard the USS Capricornus.

He married Sandie Prangle and they raised their three children in Arlington Heights. He worked for Teng & Associates before starting his own architecture firm in 1979. He loved skiing, tennis, golf and vacations by the lake. Warren hosted many summer family reunions at his lake house and annual holiday parties that created beloved memories for his family and friends.

He is survived by his sister Karen Kostak; his children Deidra, Traci (Marty Jacobson), Troy (Vicki) and Kiley (Shaun Maiter); and grandchildren Adrianne, Conor, Makenna, Kaden, Jessica and Justin. Warren was preceded in death by his brother Alan.

He is loved and missed.
