Watika Angela Johnson Rattley Sears, affectionately known as "Teesie", passed away on January 1, 2024, in Lithonia, Georgia after a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. She was 46. Watika was born on August 23, 1977, in New Orleans, Louisiana to her parents, Roxanne Elizabeth DeGruy and Wayne Johnson.

Watika was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family dearly. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Juan Duvel Sears, Sr., their two daughters, Tiara Noel Rattley and Angelia Mo'ney Nuvel Sears, as well as their two sons, Juan Duvel Sears, Jr. and DeJuan Renel Sears. Her mother, Roxanne Elizabeth DeGruy, her biological father, Wayne Johnson and her adoptive father, Rayford Rattley. Watika was also the beloved sister of Bjorn Paul Rattley and the granddaughter of Frederick Sr. and Dorothy Johnson. She was the niece of Kirk (Debra), Manuel (Amy), and Derwin (Tanith) DeGruy, Frederick Jr., Malcolm, Adrien, and Deidre Johnson. Watika held a special place in the hearts of her godmother, Etheral Lesene, and her lifelong friend, Jawanna Acklin. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Emmanuel Warren and Elizabeth Lesene DeGruy. Watika's presence will be deeply missed by many family members and friends. If you knew her, you loved her.

Watika's career was marked by her entrepreneurial spirit. She was the owner of TianDeJu, Gron Pholks Bizness, Gron Pholks Body, Tweedy's Weekend Cafe, 7th & 9th Wardrobe, and Wat Dat Cosplay Do. She poured her heart and soul into her work, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Her passion for cooking, dancing, and music were reflected in her daily life.

A memorial service honoring Watika's life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, Mass will begin at 11:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, located at 1050 Robert Blvd., Slidell, LA 70458. Family and Friends are invited to gather at the church beginning at 10:00 am, to share loving thoughts and memories of Watika.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Watika's memory, contributions can be made to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Your generous donations will help support the church's mission and continue Watika's legacy of faith and compassion.

May Watika's soul find eternal rest, and peace. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
