Mr. Armentrout, Wayne, hired me for my first career job out of college, back in July 1980, at a company called Reynolds Products. Wayne was a very special person to me, as I can still remember my first interview with him, when he made me an offer on the spot. I remember Wayne as being very professional and knowledgeable in all that he did as our Director of Purchasing and Inventory Control, where he personally developed a management system with a fail-safe audit-trail. But, most of all I remember Wayne as a manager who was always kind and truly cared about my development, where he coached me on the ins-and-outs of purchasing and the importance of inventory planning, and most of all, how to be a professional. For example, how Wayne prepared and sent me on my first business trip, where he offered to let me drive his company car. Wayne also was part of the planning for company team building events like a fun racquetball tournament, and nice Christmas party for all. Later on in my career, I had utilized Wayne as a reference while interviewing for position with another company, and I was told Wayne gave me the most stellar recommendation, and stated that he would hire me again, if given the chance, which sealed the offer to me. And, I remember thinking, again, at the time, now there is a top-person, Wayne, who still cared about my growth as a person, and still helping me whenever he could. And, now 37 years after our first interview, and in seeing his notice in the paper today, I really wish I did get another chance, again, though I am so very grateful and feel so fortunate that I did have that first chance to start my professional career under Waynes guidance, as it made all the difference in me getting started in the right direction. May God bless you, Wayne, and your family! And, thank you, for all you did for me early-on and continuously throughout my career.
