We treasured the friendship and familial relationship we shared with Dr. Wayne Gibbons in our adolescent and early adulthood years. We remember him with fondness and appreciation for his kindness, care, and concern for others. We admired his accomplishments as athlete and physician. He was always a standout, standup guy who will be truly missed. We loved him for the endearing person his was, but God loved him best.

There is so much that me and my husband would like to say about doc, that there isn't enough space on this page to express our gratitude for knowing Doc, as we called him. There wasn't anything that he wouldn't do for you and was as genuine as they come. We are truly going to miss you, but we will keep hold of those precious memories that we have. Love, Ines and Mustafa

Wayne was a very smart student and a very cool individual in every way.
Wayne could book, ball and hang out in the coolest manner.
He spoke to everyone and was very laid back in his Philly Swerve.
Waynes becoming a doctor surprised no one.
He had the drive and brains to achieve it all.
Rest In Peace my brother,
Rest In Peace.

Wayne Gibbons was a Student Advisor to minority students in the 70's at Fairfield University. This is how I met Wayne as my academic Advisor. He was full of wise counsel and good advice in how to survive the environment and complete college at Fairfield University. When I received word that Wayne left the University and went on to become a Doctor I was not surprised. He had a natural ability to encourage you to stretch your ambitions to achieve more. He coached so many of us through the academic system of the University to graduation. Although those years have zoomed by in record breaking speed in seems like yesterday we were together at the University. Wayne was a good man. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Sleep in Peace my friend. Gone but not forgotten.

Though we were basketball teammates at Central High School, my relationship with and admiration for Wayne went well beyond basketball. He laughed easily and often. He was smart in every sense of the word. He welcomed me into his home and his life outside of school. I did the same. Thankfully, after years of no contact,
I was able to spend time with him at our 50th high school reunion. Now this seems like a blessing. We filled each
other in on our lives, careers, families, etc. It was the last time I would see him. I will remember him fondly................and forever. Go in peace, my friend.
