Wayne Jinks

Funeral service for Wayne Jinks, 72, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with the Rev. Billy Mac Quick officiating. Burial will follow at Old Ohatchee Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Jinks passed away Friday in Anniston. Survivors include his daughter Charlotte Wittig (Lamont), Sandra Brown; son, Donald Wayne Jinks Jr.; sister, Elaine Capell; grandchildren, Sgt. James Matthew Whitman (Larissa), Tasha Edgeworth; great-grandchildren, Sophia Whitman, Stella Whitman, Addysen Bowman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jinks is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Dora Jinks; brothers, Billy Jinks, Roy Jinks, Gerald Jinks, and sisters, Vivian Cooper and Catherine Bryant. Pallbearers will be Joshua Yarbrough, Christopher Yarbrough, Jerome Saffold, Kyle Lovell, Samuel Saffold Jr., Buster Saffold. Mr. Jinks was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of The Church on the Rock. He was also known as Chicken Wing or Big Wayne. He was a father to two but a dad to everyone. He was an avid Alabama fan with favorite quotes as Who Let The Dogs Out and Roll Tide. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather of whom will be greatly missed.
