I was shocked when I recently spoke to a friend of days gone by and I learned of this horrible loss! How ironic on the third anniversary of Wayne's passing that I am able to leave a message in memory of an amazing young man. Wayne's laugh, his swagger, style and ability to converse are a just a few of his traits that made up who he was and why he left lastly impressions on all he met. My thoughts go out to Brent and all Wayne's family on this difficult day. Celebrate Wayne today and be thankful for him and the memories that you shared.

Brent ...
May the spirit of Wayne be with you and the family for ever more. May Waynes smile shine through your heart and soul and may all of you carry on with his passion and guidance of his journey for ever lasting life.

Dearest Wayne
We may shed a tear every now and then because we lost a dear friend, but we know that one day we shall meet up again seeing you performing your skills to the other angels and when that performance is done, we shall witness another standing ovation.
We know God called you to soon, but he needed your help so you may spread your spirit upon us.
May the Lord bless you and keep you till we all meet up once again.
Rest in peace my good man.
Amen

Brent,

We met around 14 years ago in Calgary (while I was dating Thane/Kricket)and although we didn't spend much time together, I was very fond of you and Wayne.

Today I found myself thinking about the two of you and my search brought me here.

I'm sorry for your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

It is still so hard to believe that this incredible, generous, artistic, caring, funny man is no longer with us in body, but an individual with Wayne's magnanimous spirit will never ever truly leave us. He deeply touched so many lives, and as such will live indelibly through each and every one of us in our actions, words and deeds.
For me personally, I will never forget when he and Brent sent me an endless supply of my favourite baked treats while I was recovering from heart surgery last year; a gesture which meant the world!
Wayne and Brent, you slipped silently into Water Valley, and then using your special brand of magic, you forever transformed this community and its people. You opened minds, created community, and provided a special gathering place with a unique atmosphere alternatively conducive to socialization, creativity, celebration and quiet reflection. We miss you and 'The Aspen' more than words can express.
As a couple, you were a loving inspiration, and our heartfelt condolences go out to you Brent on the loss of your life love. May your beautiful memories of a life well lived console you and help you in the difficult times.
Much Love Pepe,

God Looked Around His Garden
And He Found An Empty Place.
He Looked Down Upon The Earth.
And Saw Your Tired Face.
He Put His Arms Around YOU.
And Lifted YOU To Rest.
God's Garden Must Be BEAUTIFUL.
He Always Takes The BEST.

He Knew That You Were Suffering.
He Knew You Were In PAIN.
He Knew That You Would Never
Get Well On Earth Again.

He Saw The Road Was Getting Rough.
And The Hills Were Hard To Climb.
So He Closed Your Weary Eyelids.
And Whispered "Peace Be Within."

It Broke Our Hearts To Lose YOU.
But You Didn't Go Alone.
For Part Of Us Went With YOU.
The Day God Called YOU HOME.

I Miss You So Very Very Much...But I know Your Up In Heaven Looking Down On Us With Your Great Smile and Raising Your Glass..I Love You so very much My Cousin !!!!!!!

So sad to hear of Wayne's passing. The Aspen Cafe was my favorite lunch stop when on patrol in the area. Not only because of the great food but the great visits with Wayne and Brent. Even on days off I would take friends and family there for a delicious and friendly lunch. Wayne always remembered my name and always recognized me out of uniform (most people don't). His artistic abilities, warm friendly personality and smile will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to his wonderful Husband Brent and to both of their families and all their friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Wayne was one of a fearless group of young men who decades ago led by example of how to live life on life's terms, honestly and with humour and wit that could crack a glacier. It was a priveledge to have known him, may he be at peace wherever he is.... To Brent and Wayne's family, my heart goes out yo you. ooo

A highly spirited person with a dynamic personality came to Watervalley and breathed new exciting life amongst the quiet hills. A captivating but tranquil cafe, called The Aspen. Wayne was energetic, envigorating to be around, with his sense of humour and desire to please people and make them happy. May he rest in peace. He will be fondly remembered.
My sincerest condolences to Brent and family.

I knew Wayne many years ago while I lived in Calgary. He was such a wonderful person. He made everyone feel at home and that they had a friend. I have fond memories of him (still have a signed picture of Liza Minnelli) and speak of him often even though we have not seen each other for years. That shows what an impact he had on so many lives. He will be missed by many but his legacy will live on in everyone he touched.
