I worked with Wayne for two years on an international research grant program. Wayne always found ways to make things work and always with a smile. Indeed all the testimonials on this site highlight Wayne's good nature, and it's something I liked about him. A quick chat at the photocopy machine or follow-up on a task made the day feel better. Wayne was an excellent listener, a rare skill. I will miss him. He left so fast, I could not say goodbye. It's time to say so long, for now, and will see you some day on the other side.

He has always been one of my favourite colleagues. Wayne was kind, quiet, calm, friendly and supportive. He had such a warm smile and it was such a pleasure to see him every day. I was deeply saddened to learn of Wayne's death. I remember Wayne as a quiet, gentle man with a brilliant sense of humour. He always had a smile on his face no matter what was going on at work - especially at year end, where he worked tirelessly to wrap things up in time. He always had a kind word, and never complained. Wayne, I still remember clearly how your smile made my day when we first met. You are one of the best persons I have ever met, always tried to help and care others. I was lucky enough to work with Wayne for three years and to laugh and chuckle our way through weekly French lessons. While a quiet guy when I first met him, he had an amazing sense of humor and always a gentle smile when any of his co-workers needed it most. I was livery fortunate to work in the same area as Wayne. The kind thoughts in this guest book can only provide a glimpse of how much he was appreciated. They reflect on how much Wayne liked being with his friends and family. He always had a smile when talking of those he loved. He would want us to know he is ok.
We're not.
But time will help. Ironically, it was Wayne who helped me deal with the tragic death of a close friend a couple years ago. If nothing else, his kindness and quick smile he has made this a better place.

I was in utter shock to hear of your passing and still cannot believe it.
I am so happy we had a chance to chat before I left on holidays. Work won't be the same without you buddy. I feel very lucky to have known you for so long and will miss you very much.
You were always professional, hard working and consistently provided excellent client service to us all. Your gentle smile, the sparkle in your eyes, great sense of humour and kindness will never be forgotten.
I still remember the good times we had when we were cubicle buddies at the Sir John Carling building... especially when we would visualize a sandy beach and ocean during a snow day. It sure put a smile on our faces and made the winter months more bearable.

Dearest Wayne, I am utterly shocked and saddened that you are gone so suddenly. I am thankful I got the chance to speak to you after Mom's passing a few short months ago and I was hoping that we would get a chance to get together again in the near future. I have the fondest memories of us growing up as kids and the Christmases we spent together. We were the same age, you and I. I just celebrated my 50th birthday -- you were supposed to do celebrate the same milestone this year. Although we haven't seen each other much as adults as we were living so far apart, one of the things I remember the most about you is that you are one of the kindest and gentlest people I have ever met.
