Our condolences. We met Wayne and Minna when we were all young artists living in Hoboken in the 70´s and 80´s. I remember meeting Soren and Mimi for the first time , such beautiful children. Wayne and Minna were so proud. I was with their gallery until it closed. We met infrequently after moving from Hoboken, and slowly lost touch once we moved to the Jersey Shore. This obit was so beautifully written and so full of insights about Wayne. So much we did not know. Thank you for posting. We send love to the family.

I am so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing. I hung out with him at Lawrence High School as part of the artsy crowd. We also were at RISD together. At RISD we decided to fill the dorm hallway from Floor to ceiling inside 2 double doors so that when someone entered from the other side it would appear impassable. Kind of performance/interactive art, or something like that. We only got halfway to the ceiling when someone opened the doors, which ended our project. He was a gentle, creative, fun guy to be with.

I will always remember running into Wayne and his daughter, Mimi, at the movie theater in Hoboken, NJ, back in 2010, along with my mother and brother. We had all just finished watching Sex and the City 2 and agreed the movie wasn´t great. What truly stood out to me that day was how much Wayne loved Mimi and how much joy he found in being with her. His love for her was so evident, and it left a lasting impression on all of us. I am deeply sorry for your loss. With heartfelt sympathy, Lauren Purcell

I am truly so very sorry for the passing of Mr. Packer. I worked as a baby sitter to the Packers when I was 13-14 years old. I always felt at home and welcomed in the house. It´s where I learned of different music, food and art! Great memories. May god rest your soul and guide the family through this difficult time.
