Wayne Reese Sr.

Wayne saw no fault in others. He was always ready to give you the benefit of doubt regardless of what others say about you.
Wayne was "GOD sent", and I still miss him.

Thanking God for the gift that Coach Reese was to his family, community and the city of New Orleans. "Well done, good and faithful servant". My he Rest in Power. I am holding his wife, Stella, and his family in my heart and prayers.

I just found today about the passing of Coach Reese. I am sending my condolences and prayers to his family. I meet Coach Reese when I was just starting my teaching career in New Orleans in 1995. He was kind and always supported his players. In fact, Coach Reese and his players even helped me move with nothing asked in return. I will always remember his warmth and patience as an educator.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Great Man outstanding father and husband. If coach Reese liked you, you had a friend for life. I was shocked to hear of his passing. Great coach and mentor of young men. He will be missed. RIP Coach! My sympathy goes out to his family.

I met Wayne in 1961 @ Carter G. Woodson Jr. High School in Uptown New Orleans. We were 'brothers in sports' playing Football and members of the Track and Field Teams. The Head coachs @ the time were Coach's Winston Burns.Sr. with assistance coaches, Allen, Stuart, Saunders, Herman Bacchus, and Roy Glapion to name a few.
Wayne was always a 'True' athlete with the wiliness to work hard and be the best at his positions.
Then, we met in 1963 at Xavier Prep High School. There, we were members of the Football and Track Teams and Coached by 'Bullitt' Mckey and Coach James.
Wayne, "you will always be my Brother in Sport and a Life Long Friend".

Deepest sympathies to the Reese family. Hold on to you faith and know that we were blessed to have Coach Reese in our lives. Truly an inspiration to me as I try to become the best father, husband and man I can be.

May God bless His Family in this time of sorrow. He was a great guy at Xavier Prep. Wayne and my young brother Donald play football together and he was a very nice person. May God comfort his Family at this time sorrow and surly he will wipe all your tears away. Bless to the Family

Hello this is Chris Archinard if it was not for Coach Reese I would not have been the the coach I turned out to be without his guidance and mentoring. Four people inspired me to to give back to the community to give back to our youth to make our world a better place. My father and mother, Coach Eddie Robinson, and Coach Reese. I have know Wayne since Junior High School. He was a good fiend and one hell of a good half back in High School and College. He turned out to be a great coach - He believed in the kids he coached and they believed in him. He was a great family man and and father. He loved his wife and was proud of his children. May he rest in perfect peace!

Coach Reese was my physical education teacher back in the late 80s he was such a wonderful person I haven't seen him in years, he will be dearly missed, to his family stay strong God is a comforter lean on him for everything and he will give it to you!
