My condolences to the family. He was always a wonderful cousin growing up in Wise County.

To Bob and family; In am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I never had a chance to meet him, but I did get to meet your mother a couple of times while working with you at Kmart. She was a sweet lady. I know you will miss your dad dearly, because he was not only your dad , but seemed to be your best friend also. I remember you coming to work and telling about what you and your dad did on your day off. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in the coming days as you go through this difficult time, and know you will see him again in heaven.

It's a sad time for me in the memory of my uncle missed your Doug sturgill. He was one of the best role models for me while I was growing up I was a Christian man never heard him say a bad word out of his mouth. Never ever heard of it but nobody else down he's always trying to uplift everything they should in the name of God. I was about 12 years old he came to build my grandmother a flu on her house for her stove, so I begin to hand him blocks blocks up and things that he needed and we worked hard that day together we weed laugh and cried Ashley mashed each other's fingers with blocks that day. That was the beginning a little grown up the relationship between me and my Uncle Doug anytime after that I'm never dought anyting the man never told me.I'm sorry I couldn't get to funeral,due for my health, Doug always reminded me of Billy Graham I believe that Billy was right hand of God on this Earth, in my heart by watching Doug walk this Earth for 82 years the way he treats his family and his friends he was second right behind Billy Graham that's a high praise for a man that's what my heart feels that's what God told me to write so Uncle Doug till we meet in heaven some may God bless you with family and friends . One of the kindest men I have ever met ..he has truly gone to heaven on the wings of angel . he will missed by all who touched his life . he had got his reward he told me about when we went to visit Doug and Marie .. ...so sorry for the loss of Doug he touched many lives and loved many people . HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN .REST IN PEACE ...DOUG.

I count it a blessing that my path crossed with Mr. Sturgill so many years ago.
He and Marie were such sweet and wonderful patients. God graced many years later by knowing and working with their wonderful grand daughter, Alisha.

Doug was one of the most amazing men; always to greet you with a smile. He was certainly a man of faith and honesty. He will be missed by his loving family and his many friends!
