Wayne Michael White entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the age of 64. He was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident for Gretna, LA. Wayne was employed as a Truck Driver and Newspaper Distributor with the Times Picayune/Advocate. Beloved husband of Mildred Powell White. Devoted father of Darlika (Michael) Boines, Shaquille Crawford, Shaneka Keller (Anthony), Robert Liddell (Edith Rene), and the late Latasha Coleman and Wayne Michael Downs. Loving son of Laversia Jackson and the late Clarence England. Brother of Eddie (Arlene) White, Sr., Craig White, Sylvester Jackson, Tracy Lynn (Stanley) Coleman, Jeanne Jackson, and the late Carl White. Son-in-law of Herman (Carliss) Jackson and the late Beatrice "Bebell" Powell. Brother-in-law of Darren, Brett (Pamela), Shone, Damian, and Triecy Jackson, Merlin Jones of Modesto, CA and Vallery (Barbara) Burden. Father-in-law of Krystal Downs. Wayne Is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church, Heavenly Stars Missionary Baptist Church, Second Zion Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of Times Picayune/ Advocate, Gretna Police Department, and City of Gretna Clerk of Courts are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor; Pastor Melvin Jones, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
