During our first summer after Doolie
(freshman) year we were on a field trip to various military installations around the USA. One stop was Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City where several of us were invited to dinner at Bruce's parents home. Bruce was always an upright, reliable and great guy. He will be missed.

Bruce has been a great friend since we first met as roommates during our Doolie Year(first year at USAFA in 1961). He was a major reason I made a successful transition from a civilian to later being a fighter pilot in the Air Force. Bruce was a great and natural athlete, a good teller of jokes, and a pretty good singer. Most importantly, he was a friend who was everything a friend should be!

Bruce was one of the "Good Guys" who made it possible for many of us to get through the AF Academy. He saw the irony and humor and kept us laughing. An heroic pilot in Vietnam, an enviable AF career, a loyal, non judgemental, long time friend, he was, and I will miss him a lot.

Bruce was a valued friend for over fifty years. We met as we entered the US Air Force Academy in June, 1961. He has remained a close friend through the years since. Until his illness he was actively planning for our 50th reunion and looked forward to it with great excitement. He was a man of great good humor, unwavering integrity, and heroic accomplishment. He will be greatly missed.
