WENDELL LEONARD WRAY In San Francisco, August 24, 2003. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, graduate of Bates College, Lewiston, ME, a veteran of WWII (U.S. Army). Graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology (Masters, Library Science, 1952). From 1959 to 1973, a resident of New York City, where he worked at the New York Public Library, in the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and the North Manhattan Library Project. From 1973, a faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh's library school, from whom he received its 1973 Distinguished Alumnus Award. A resident of Oakland since 1988, active in the Episcopal parishes of the Church of the Advent in San Francisco and St. Paul's Church in Oakland. A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Church of the Advent of Christ the King, 261 Fell Street (between Franklin and Gough), San Francisco. Memorial contributions to the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh, c/o Andrew D. Falk, Director of Development, School of Information Sciences, 135 N.
