Wendy Staal Obituary
She always looked on the bright side of life, regardless of circumstances. Wendy was a caring grandmother and loved napping with her grand-cat Yoshi. She had a passion for singing and acting and participated in several community theater productions.
Wendy is survived by her daughter, Sarah, grandson Asher, brothers Steve (Kay), Brian, Jeff (Sonia), brother-in-law John VanderMeer, nieces and nephews. Wendy was preceded in death by her sister Sandy, parents Fred & Grace Staal, and infant nephews and a niece.
Wendy attended Reformed Bible College (Kuyper College) for her higher education. Throughout her career, she worked in various service professions, including nursing homes and in workshops and homes for the mentally and physically disabled. Most recently, she served as a daycare preschool teacher. Wendy's dedication to helping others extended beyond her professional life as she also had a passion for volunteering at her church and local thrift shop.
Wendy's vibrant personality and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charitable organization of your choice in Wendy's memory.

Thinking of Sarah, her daughter, and Asher, her son, and the Staal family. Growing up across the street from Wendy, she and I then went to college together, and though I was busy raising our children for awhile, we were able to reconnect in time, and I am thankful for that. I am grateful to have known her, and for her friendship. We are praying for the Staal family and for Sarah and Asher.

Wendy had this stubborn optimism that helped her get through tough times and always turned towards helping others, creating that brighter world she fiercely believed in. I´ll never forget that example she set. My condolences to the Staal family and especially her daughter, Sarah and grandson Asher.
