WENG LAI Obituary
June 18, 1935 – February 19, 2016
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his 80th year, Ko entered into rest on Friday, February 19, 2016. He leaves his loving wife Mary after 49 wonderful years of marriage. Proud father to Andrew, Rachel (Dave Lafond), Emily (Riccardo Bozzo) and Jocelyn (Mark Carpenter). Loving Grandpa to Max, Zachary, Adriano and Marcello. Ko will be lovingly remembered by his many family, friends, colleagues and patients. He proudly practiced as an obstetrician in Windsor for over 35 years and was known for his enormous dedication and the compassionate care he provided to thousands of women and their newborn babies. The family wish to thank Dr. Toubassi, Dr. Minden, Dr. O'Connor, Dr. Trinkaus, Dr. Leighl , and the staff on 13 Eaton at Toronto General Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Ziv Harel and the Kidney Care Clinic at St. Michael's Hospital for their exceptional care. A visitation will be held at the
Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre
(375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto)
on Monday, February 22 from 6 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (354 St. Clair Ave W) at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please visit www.etouch.ca for information on where to donate in honour of Dr. Lai.

My deepest sympathy to the Lai families and extended family.
I was a patient of Dr.WK for many years in Windsor. I had the pleasure of being a patient of his (until his retirement) and his brother Dr. Michael Lai. Both dedicated doctors. Dr. Lai and I would have brief talks about kids, work, ..these were missed moments. I hope you all share your moments and keep them close in heart during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr Lai was my family physician/ gynecologist/ obstetrician for many years until he retired and i was treated with respect and loving attention under his care.He did have the greatest sense of humour and he always asked about MY family which was impressive. Rest in peace Dr. Lai and may fond memories carry your loved ones to the other side of grief where their hearts can be happier.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr Lai's passing. He saved my life after a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in 1995. I will never forget him. A gentle, kind, and compassionate person.

I worked with Dr. Lai for over 30 years at Grace Hospital. I fondly remember him for his kindness and dedication to his career. He was a very important member to our family setting at the Grace site. I also remember him for his dedication to his wife and family. My condolences to his family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing "WK" at he Salvation Army Grace Hospital and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospitals in Windsor. Always a smile and a friendly check on my church attendance....LOL God Bless him.

We are very sad to hear the news that Uncle Ko has passed away. We owe him a debt of gratitude for the healthy births of our three sons. In fact, we probably would never have had more than one child had we not known, through Ko, that hyperemesis gravidarum is treatable (not according to UK doctors!!). We were lucky to be able to spend time with Uncle Ko and Aunty Terry last summer when they visited and send our best wishes and sincere condolences to the family.
