Werner Piede, 90, of Allentown, formerly of Hamburg, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the L.V. Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Rosalie Ann (Potts) Piede. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in March 2017. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Margaret (Riemer) Beiswenger and Walter Piede. Werner was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a computer systems designer for many years before retiring. Survivors: Wife, Rosalie; Children: Michael and his wife Kathleen of Perkiomenville, Susan Schenkel and her husband Herbert of Macungie, David and his wife Jan of Upper Macungie Twp., James and his wife Mary Jane of Pottstown; Grandchildren: 13; Great-grandchildren: 7; Half-Brother: William Beiswenger and his wife Ingrid of Port Richey, FL; Half-Sister: Carol Quarg of Edmonton, KY. A wonderful man and my first computer mentor, (how lucky for me), at Bachman. When I got a little older and was asked what I'd like to drink, I would say Manhattan as I remember him ordering that drink and thought perhaps I, too, could be as brilliant as Werner. My heart goes out to Rose, who I also adored, and the rest of his family.

Werner was a great supporter of Hamburg Wrestling and will be missed by all. His enthusiasm and knowledge of wrestling was evident during all the matches he attended. He hand etched many plaques for the boys in which he did an awesome job. He will be greatly missed.
