Wes was a wonderful man and it was a pleasure to know him. I used to spend a little bit of time around the Hot Springs Ranch around 40 years ago when Wes owned it. He liked a good practical joke and was always a pleasure to be around. He was also always very generous with access to his property. My condolences go out to all of his family.

Wes's passing leaves a huge hole in our universe, for he truly was larger than life. Travel abroad with Wes and Pat was a thrill to which they brought extra sparkle and spice. In Italy, our group spent the night at an old Italian mansion converted to a B&B. In the morning, while other travelers were boarding the bus, I could not get out of my room. The lock refused to open. I banged on the door but could arouse no one. I called the office on the telephone, but got no response.

Fortunately, like most old Italian mansions, my bedroom had a small balcony. I climbed out onto it and started yelling, "Help!" Wes heard me, came to stand below my balcony, raised his arms and called out "Jump! I'll catch you!" I truly believed that he would try, but I was unsure of his success, so I hesitated. The proprietor then realized my plight, came back upstairs to my room, and finally managed to jimmy the door open.

I was free, with a happy memory of my brave hero!

I pray that God will wrap you in comfort and peace, Mary Pat, and all of your family as well.

I love you!

Eleanore

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I remember your beautiful wedding like it was yesterday and the both of you had a glow of pure love which has stayed with you over 20 plus years. Wes as you know was one in a million who never met anyone he couldn't find something in common with. Young and old could relate to Wes he will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor. Wes and MaryPat I love you. Your friend, Sue
