I grew up in Edmonton, and moved out to Atlantic Canada in 1994 in my mid-thirties. So many years later, I still find myself singing Wes Montgomery's morning song...."Good morning, good morning. It's a Wes Montgomery morning...." Just a radio listener who has fond memories of this wonderful man.....

Wes and his "Good Morning" show will be missed tremendously. He never failed to put a smile on my face and his sharp wit and ability for trivia never ceased to amaze me. He was one in a million and will be sadly missed. I trust that Heaven has door knobs, so he can continue to have a good one and I hope the knowledge that he touched so many lives will make your sorrow easier to bear. Take care.

I grew up listining to Wes on CHED radio in the 60's and then KISN radio later on in Wes's career. I learned of Wes's passing while in Kenora Ontario and I was truly shocked by his passing. Wes, you touched a lot of lives, rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy to the Montgomery family. He was a funny, kind and witty man and we will miss him dearly not being with Jackie Rae on CFCW. They made a fantastic couple on the air. No one will ever be able to take his place.

I never met Wes in person, but grow up listening him on CHED every morning during the bus ride to school, then later caught up with him again on CFCW. I will miss having him in my life every morning. My condolence to the family and friends, who knew him more then a couple hours a day that I got to enjoy him in. To Jackie Rae for the loss of a great on air partner/friend.

Having recently moved to Winnipeg after living 10 years in Edmonton, I was very shocked and saddened to learn of Wes's passing. I always listened to him every morning on CFCW and the city is mourning Edmonton's version of Regis Philpin. My condolences to his family and friends and all the CFCW listeners. He will be greatly missed by all.

My sincere condolences to all of the Montgomery family. I have many fond memories of going to high school with Wes in the 50's and being neighbors. When Wes made a friend it was for life with no pretentions. We will truly miss him and his wit. Again my sincerest sympathy, my thoughts and prayers are with you. May the happy memories you have of your loved one help sustain through this difficult time.

My sincere sympathy to the Montgomery family in the loss of your son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, Wes. It was a pleasure to renew old friendships at the Fort Saskatchewan reunion not so long ago. I remember growing up together at the Fort and in Manitoba, and all those great curling games with Wes as skip. I am sorry I didn't have the chance to hear Wes on the radio but I am sure that he brought much to his radio family and listeners. Take care of yourselves at this very sad time. Mary feel free to email anytime. June

We are very surprised to hear of the death of Wes. As former residents of Edmonton we have enjoyed the many jokes and stories that Wes told over the air waves throughout his career in Edmonton, He will sadly be missed. In a city of "champions" he certainly was a champion.

We have lost one of the greatest radio legends that I feel I had the honor of growing up with. Every morning our clock radio would turn on as the "Wes Montgomery Jingle" was being played. Wes Montgomery had a sense of humor that has far surpassed anyone who followed in his foot steps and like many Edmontonians, I will truly miss him. My condolences to his family; he now watches over you as only he can.

Thank you Wes for your wit and your ever-present humor. You made our mornings bright and we could always count on you to keep us in stitches. We often re-used your jokes at work, trying to give them the same twist as you did. You are in our prayers.

Edmonton has lost a pillar of the community with Mr. Montgomery's passing. There was not a day that he did not put a smile on anyone's face, who was fortunate enough to cross his path. We were faithful listeners who thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated his down to earth approach to life - gut level honest and open. No masks with Wes. It has been several years since we left Edmonton, but each time we would be in the area, we would tune in. I know how much we will miss his happy go lucky attitude and quick wit. He touched our hearts, and we only got a glimpse of Wes, the man. The loss each of you as family and friends must feel has to be heart wrenching. He constantly talked about his wife, kids and grandkids, just like a neighbor would chat over the back fence. The lesson we take away is to value family and live life to the fullest. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers for you all..

I grew up listening to Wes on 6:30 CHED. It was always fun listening to him and his antics. It made you feel like you had a friend out there in radioland, and if he was up early in the morning you could be too. Sincere sympathy goes out to all who knew and loved him and his family. No one could ever fill his shoes.

I would like to thank Wes for the wonderful memories as a young girl back in the 70's. I was a struggling teen, who with Wes' audio present,, fulled my mornings with cheer and laughter on the school bus-which took me many miles away from home.
In the past few years, listening to Wes, brought back those tender years. Thank you Wes Montgomery!
