I am grateful to have known Wes. I first met him during a church youth trip to the church of the Pilgrim in DC with my wife, Sharron and our daughter, Amber who is close to his age. He was always a kind and polite young man who I got to know even better over time as a brief guest in our home and as member of our circle for a time.
We had many conversations about life, and the importance of family, gratitude and change. It seems that these featured very strongly in his adult life. I am saddened by the loss of his presence in the daily lives of his family and friends but am thankful for the strong impression in experiences and memories that he left with all who knew him. May he be at peace eternally now and may peace come to those who love him, eventually.

I met Wes & his children many yrs back. I am blessed beyond belief that he came into our lives and became part of our family. Be at peace sweetheart. As requested, we will all watch over your wife (Kaitlyn Musselman Durrett), and your children when we are able to see them again. Until we meet again, shine bright!

I used to give Wes rides home from
High school, I will always remember his long hair and beautiful blue eyes. You could read so much about him looking into his eyes. He was a great human wa big heart. It was an honor to be his friend

My deepest sympathy to the Durrett family and friends, I knew Wes when he attended church at Damascus Road Fellowship in Belleville Il. His love of Jesus Christ was so evident. Sending love and prayers to all.

We lived next to Wes and Monica in O'Fallon IL. Wes was always such a friendly and positive guy. It was an honor to have known him. Our hearts and prayers are with all of his family at this time.
