Dr. Wesley Cornelious McClure

You are missed Dr.McClure...

Mary lived with my father and mother in Campbell County, Virginia where she was a grade school teacher. I met Wesley when I went back home on leave while serving in the US Air Force. We talked a little about everything or shall I say I listed to Wesley talk. He was still attending college. He inspired meet to start taking classes while I was still in the Air Force. I earned a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership. I joined the Phoenix Police Department after completing my time in the USAF. I eventually went on to become the Police Chief in Phoenix, Arizona and Houston, Texas. I am now serving proudly with the Obama Administation. Thanks Wesley for the pep talk.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Family of this Great Man. I will always remember Dr. McClure for his kindness in thel loss of my daughter, Erika Marr. Yasmin Tate, Memphis, TN

I will never forget you as a math teacher! You made everything very simple and easy! Above all you really believed in us!I can still remember right before your exams, you brought in your math major students to tutor us to make sure we were ready to pass the test!(1974) I will miss most seeing you at Lane's homecoming football game turning around to the audience and saying"Welcome Home". You were so instrumental in guiding my grand-son thru Lane College, sending letters of encouragement to him and our church (Magnolia First Baptist) stating his g.p.a., and letting us know that he was in the top ten percent of his class. Encouraging words I shall never forget. My grand-son graduated 2013.
