Dear Marion - We remember first meeting Wes and your family when we lived, briefly, in Saskatoon (1960s). Occasional meetings thereafter were always a pleasure. Wes was a mentor and an inspiration to those of us who were a bit younger.

My regrets that I could not join with you in celebrating Wes Robbin's life. Thank you for the special invitation to be with you and many of Wes's colleagues to give recognition to how he made a difference in our province. It was my privilege to have served with and experienced the leadership of this province made by Wes Robbins. Indeed the Province of Saskatchewan and the Democratic Socialist movement has lost a pioneer, leader and major contributor to the advancement of community and being our brothers' keeper.
Our thoughts are with you and the Robbins family at this difficult time.
Sincere Sympathy

Marion and family, I also best remember the caring Wes Robbins I knew as a child , teen, and young adult attending Westminster United Church. He was always kind and friendly -- someone who helped through his example to form me as a person. I will celebrate his life with the rest of you. My condolances.

Wes left a great legacy for us to follow about how citizens and communities can develop their own economic and social livelihoods. In these times it is important to remember the leadership of Wes Robbins in building a cooperative common wealth for all.
His family is continuing to provide this leadership.
Warm regards to all.

I first met Wes while attending " Co-0p College' in Saskatoon where he was a guest instructor, and the only person I knew with a photogenic mind. His performance in the leg. as Minister of Finance was superb! Anyone who chose to debate with Wes required a financial handbook; Wes had the figures in his head! Better to have Wes with you than again you!
My father was born & raised at Tessier, and the story in "Tales and Trails of Tessier" of Wes as a young school teacher during the Depression is a reminder of the spirit & perseverance of those who built this province! Thank you Wes, You served us well!

I did not know Wes Robbins personally, but for me he symbolized what we expect of people in leadershio positions. To this day I measure our political candidates to Wes' devotion to serving the people of his country.
I learned another aspect of Wes' talents from my husband the Rev. Roy Livinston who came home from many United Church meetings and passed on to me the guidance that he had received from the wise counsel of Wes Robbins, especially on the merits of various pension plans.

Wes Robbins had many wonderful public achievements but what I will always remember is a private attribute -his kindness to all. Seeing him in church on a weekly basis, from a toddler to adulthood, he always spoke to me in a friendly, caring and interested manner. The time he took for ordinary people never changed no matter how well-known and busy he became. I (and many others I'm sure) always felt lucky to know him and valued around him. He lived his strong values every day - including an environmental concern decades before it became popular. He was a great inspiration.
