He truly has left a lasting impact as I too did google him to find out why he passed when I saw the end of the episode. As a mother, I can not imagine having to bury my child at any age and my heart goes out to both mom and dad/step parents too. Its amazing how many people cared to come leave a message. He had a very kind face and unforgettable eyes so I know he was special and will look over his family and friends always.

I came to the obituary from watching terror in the woods. Very saddened for the loss of the young man. My condolences to his family. He was so young. Life is fragile.

I didn't know him. Like many others here I saw him on these woods are haunted, and I immediately looked up Weste. I'm sorry for the family's loss. It's so hard to loose someone. I lost my mom a year ago and it bothers me so much that there will be a day nobody will think about her. Weste will always be remembered. He's etched in history in a way. I hope you find comfort in that. I mean 8 years later and someone new , cared enough to look him up , then come here to post . Just to let him and his family know he's seen. Love to all of you.

We didn't know Weste personally but just saw the episode of These Woods Are Haunted that he was in. It was obvious that he was a kind and thoughtful person and something about him, the look in his eyes, touched us to the point that when we saw the "In Memory of Weste" message at the end of the show, we had to search for his obituary and learn what happened to such a young man. He was obviously special because here we are, now in 2025, still writing messages in his memory all these years after his passing. We wanted to express our condolences and give our love to his family and friends and do our part to keep his memory going throughout this year 2025 and well into the future.

I became familiar with Weste and the unique story he shared on television regarding an overnight stay after a wedding. Was shocked & saddened by the mention of his passing at the conclusion of the show´s segment. Rest in Heaven Weste & thank you for sharing your experience.

I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart. I didn´t have the pleasure of knowing Weste, I just wanted to express my condolences to his family & friends.

I know it's been since 2017, and people are still giving condolences to the family because of seeing the T.V. show that I too just watched. Just something about this young and handsome man that touched my heart and made me search for him. It is true their energy lives on and still touches people, some he doesn't even know. My greatest sympathy to the family.

As a mother, I felt compelled to say how my heart went out too his parents and family members. I only knew of him through the TV program"these haunted woods". The story was well told by him and his friend.At the end they notified viewers of his passing. I'm deeply sorry. I hope you find comfort in his truth of life after death that he is there checking in on you . He was a very handsome ,well spoken young man.

It was very heavy to see the "In memory of" frame at the end of the episode. So heavy that I'm actually on the internet looking for healing and closure. Whatever the situation was, I hope your family and friends do find healing, and comfort, seeing so many strangers mourning his death.

I just saw his episode on TITW n he seemed to be a remarkable friend. To his family and friends...I just had my 32 year young brother pass as well in March of 2020 and my thoughts and prayers are with him and you. God bless his gentle soul and everyone's life he seemed to touch in his life and passing.

Although Weste was taken from this earth too soon, He has been immortalized through the show he did "terror in the woods". Every time episode 3 season 1 plays Weste will be able to touch more people's heart and soul as he did mine today and many other times before when I watched probably 8 times! From what I can tell he was a gentle soul, articulate, intelligent and a great friend. I wish his family the best, and know Weste is smiling down from heaven!✝

I never had the pleasure of meeting Weste, and rarely catch a full television program, but his story on TiTW was so captivating that I actually put my work down to give it my attention. I was so saddened to see that he had passed away, and I felt compelled to leave a message before the show even ended. I have to say that I am amazed by the number of people that he touched through this one experience, but not surprised, given his obvious ability to connect with other people; that's what made me put my work down to watch this episode of TiTW after all. Amazed but not surprised, if that makes any sense. To his parents, you clearly raised a fine young man, and I am so sorry for your loss. Truth is that everyone loses when the influence of a good person is no longer with us. My brother passed away as a young man of similar age, and it's a difficult thing to wrestle with; but just as my brother is watching over me, I'm sure that Weste is watching over you. I'm in absolute awe of the number of condolences for Weste.
I myself have never seen this many anywhere, outside of celebrities. I hope it provides a small amount of comfort for family and friends to this day. Although a lot of the people did not know Weste, his soul has transcended time and space and he is still touching people in a positive way.
I hope that family and friends still read these condolences, and know that Weste had a purpose for his short - lived life.

I also saw Weste's story on TITW. I'm so glad I took the time to look into who he was as a person upon seeing the "In Memory of..." What a light he truly was to those whose lives he touched! He obviously was a remarkable person. I'm so sorry for his loss - sending love & light to all who love him!

Sorry for your tremendous loss at such an early age. I also met Weste via television and caught the tail end of the program. My experience with paranormal was seeing my wife's mother walk through her old bumper pull camping trailer!
Just believe the experience is real! Someday maybe you will be fortunate enough to have one.

Saw the show also cause Iam a fan of the mysterious wests passing had a profound impact on me Iam the father of 20 and21 year old boys or very fine young men now my younger son at 19 was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma a rare cancer he had to leave college for chemo he did mary his college sweetie and they continue to go back and forth to MD Anderson in Houston the thought of loosing a child is a absolutely horrible west is in my thoughts and I pray for anyone who has gone or going through a difficult time love you all

Like most of the others, I did not personally have the pleasure of meeting Weste. I saw him on TITW and during his interview I said to my husband that, while I think most of these programs are scripted, that Weste and James really seemed like good, decent, honest people and I was drawn to the warmness he displayed. Seeing the "In Memory of" at the end honestly deeply saddened my heart. I NEVER actually check those but, because of the light and sincerity he projected, I did. I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw Weste and James' episode on Terror in The Woods for the third time and it still saddens me to know that Weste passed away. I only know them from the segment on the show but still I'm sad and hurt that someone so young and so loved is no longer here.
