Weston Robison Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 14, 2024.
Weston Shinn Robison, lovingly known as "Skip," passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, on Seabrook Island, South Carolina, at the age of 72. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Holland Robison.

Born on May 6, 1952, in Hannibal, Missouri, Skip was the son of the late Bobbie Suiter Robison and Sharron Shinn Robison. Growing up in a military family, Skip spent much of his childhood in Hawaii and Germany, experiences that shaped his perspective and appreciation for life's diversity. Following a brief period of military service, he pursued a career in the food and beverage industry, training as a chef before transitioning into hospitality. His career culminated with his role as a hotelier at The Inn at Henderson's Wharf in Fells Point, Maryland, from which he retired.

Skip will be remembered for his boundless generosity and compassion. He had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. One poignant example of his kindness was his friendship with Mike, a homeless man whom many avoided. Skip ensured Mike received daily meals for years and even arranged for him to have a proper funeral when he passed away without family to claim him. This selfless act epitomized Skip's character-he never sought recognition but always acted out of genuine care for others.

A man of deep faith, Skip often shared his love of Jesus with those facing hardships, offering comfort and hope through heartfelt conversations. Many looked up to him as a father figure, finding solace in his wisdom and unwavering support.

Skip also found joy in nature. His green thumb was evident in the vibrant vegetable garden he tended and the dozens of orchids he nurtured year after year. These pursuits reflected his patience and love for cultivating beauty in the world around him.

Skip is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy J. Robison of Williamsburg, Virginia; his daughter, Alana J. Robison of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; his son, Nathan S. Robison of Charleston, South Carolina; his sisters, Jeannie Knowles of Seabrook Island, South Carolina, and Pennie Yepez of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and his cherished granddaughters, Jordan A. Sledge of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Clarissa Robison of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his son Ezekiel B. Robison and his nephews Gabriel A. Robison and Shaun M. Settles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, at Kimbel Chapel at Camp St. Christopher on Seabrook Island, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse in honor of Skip's generous spirit.

Skip touched countless lives with his kindness and faith. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
