My brother was my hero from the time we were kids even till this year as he was my best man, at my wedding. He was my protector always and even into my adult years, he always called to check on me and give advice. Kind hearted and showed compassion to everyone he knew, he was everything I wanted to be. Growing up he owned every type of hunting and fishing magazine. He was the ultimate outdoorsman as we " my two brother and I' would go on all sorts of camping and survival adventures along a small creek, not far from the farm we grew up on. The 'farm' was like a never ending vacation for us kids, for the most part. I remember every summer us kids "cousins included" would swim the ponds as often as we could. Myself being too young to go alone would always have to wait for an older sibling. I remember one particular day, I snuck off to swim alone early in the morning. as I got close to the ponds edge I lost traction and fell down the bank into the water. All I remember is going up and down splashing as I gasped for air. I had not learned how to swim yet and had fallen in water that was over my head. Scared and knowing I was in trouble I went under. All I remember was Whade pulling me from the water. He knew I didn't listen well and had followed me to the pond that day, in return saving my life. There're are so many good memories of Whade and so many ways I could tell of his amazing character. One thing he always expressed was his love for the Lord, I am so thankful he was able to be the best man at my wedding this year. A brother love can never be described and I never knew just how much he meant to me until now. I will always love you, Whade! Until we meet again...
