Wilber and i grew up in the same town, woodlawn, illinois. i recall taking a trip with him(his soon to be wife, Terry) and another lady to Mammoth Cave Kentucky in 1952. he drove a 50 red, ford convertable.
I found Wilber to be a true friend who served his country over in Korea during the early and roughest years of that war.
i recently learned with deep regret that he tried to contact me while I was living in Mount Vernon. I never got the message. At the time i was caregiving for my wife in her last stage of alzheimers and not free to leave.
I will miss you a lot old friend.
