Wilbert Roger Schoen, known as Roger, is survived by his daughters Theresa Sprung (Reed), Leslie Geist (Daniel), Lisa Wakefield (Stuart), and stepson Jeffrey Davis. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren: Stephanie Johnston, Jennifer Gaillard, Reed Sprung Jr., Shawna Sprung, Matthew Geist, Nicole Pierson, Melissa Guzy, Katie Ayu, Dylan Geist, Laura Ramberg, Samuel Wakefield, and Molly Wakefield. He had eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Eudell and Rose Schoen; his wife, Colleen Schoen; his sister, Delores Riddle; and his daughter, Laura Schoen.

Roger was born on May 19, 1936, in Granite City, Illinois, to Eudell and Rose Schoen. After graduating from Granite City High School, he attended the University of Illinois and later served in the United States Air Force. While serving at the National Security Agency, he met Elaine Hanson. They married in 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. They later moved to Minnesota, where they raised four daughters: Laura, Theresa, Leslie, and Lisa. Roger and Elaine divorced in 1971.

In 1982, Roger married Colleen Davis, becoming stepfather to her son Jeffrey Davis. They remained married until Colleen's passing in 1999.

Roger spent most of his career managing shoe stores and working as a buyer. He enjoyed college basketball, particularly the Fighting Illini, old movies, and visiting Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be held on January 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, 1 Tower Avenue, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling, Area 3, at 12:45 p.m.
