A chapter in my life seemed to have passed with grandpa Fritz's death. As a child I used to love to hear the stories grandma Alice would share about him in the military as she shared his pictures. I was blessed to see him in person only a few times in my life which I will never forget. One time he and his twin came to my graduation yet it was the times at the hotel afterwards that I remember the most: they made me laugh a lot, I was hugged and honored by his presence. He was at my wedding: again was thankful for him. Visiting at Higgins lake with my dad, he would tell me he had a pool and a jacuzzi in his back yard referring to the lake as I saw no pool ha. Never enough time. Wish I saw him more. Yet the emptiness in my past that I had was filled with Jesus when I looked to the gospel (Isaiah 53) at age 24 and I started a new chapter in my life. I'm grateful for grandpa Fritz and blessed to have known him. May the God of joy fill your hearts as we mourn our loss.
