Wilfred Lee "Willy" Buter was born January 26, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Wilfred B. "Will" and Dorothy (Steinkuehler) Buter. He died Monday, June 7, 2010, at his home in Denison, Iowa at the age of 52 years, four months, and 12 days. Willy grew up in the Dunlap area and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1977. He worked at Farmland, Dubuque Packing Plant, and Denison Foods over the years. Willy loved his family and spending time with them as well as his friends. He liked to restore old cars and barbeque with friends at Yellowsmoke. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, and playing pool.

Willy was preceded in death by his father, Big Willie on May 6, 2005; grandparents, Herman & Mary Buter and Alvie Steinkuehler; four uncles, Bill Steinkuehler, Alfred, Tony, and Lawrence Buter; five aunts, Agnes Andert, Deloris Horn, Rosita Piper, Monica Buter, and Albina Smith; and two cousins, Donnie Friedrichsen and Mike Kline. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Buter of Dunlap, Iowa; brother, Danny Buter and his wife Vicki of Denison, Iowa; nephews and niece, Kyle, Kurtis, and Kelsey Buter of Denison, Iowa; great niece, Aaliyah Buter of Denison, Iowa; grandmother, Alvera Steinkuehler of Dunlap, Iowa; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services were held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap, IA. Clergy Pastor Don Barnett officiated. Musicians Marcia Barnett. Honorary Pall Bearers: Kyle Buter, Kurtis Buter, Kelsy Buter, Aaliyah Buter. Pall Bearers; Doug Friedrichsen, Mike Ferguson, Brian Ferguson, David Shafer, Dave Brotherson, Shane Steinkuehler.

Final resting place Pleasant Hill Cenetery in Dunlap, IA.

Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of the services.
