My deep condolence to the bereft family of Wilf, who is my mentor, colleague and kind supporter in my study of mosses in Asia. His departure is a great loss to the field of Bryology, especially in Muscology, where fewer people these days enjoy, like Wilf, the hardships encountered in conducting field expeditions to far away parts of the world in search of new information on the biodiversity, ecology and conservation of mosses in their natural habitats.

Hi Pam, Muriel and Linda,

I just wanted to say how I loved your dad - I can picture him right now, laying on the livingroom couch, stockinged-feet crossed, listening to music and reading. I remember him making many-vegetable soup and blueberry muffins, and the way he always seemed to eat an apple in the car! I'll miss him - he and Peggy were a part of my history and they helped to make my childhood rich and happy.

Wilf inspired us all. i never look closely at a moss or liverwort (and i look at lots of them!) without thinking of him and smiling. My deepest condolences to all his family.
