Wilfried Jung Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 10, 2024.
Mora - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfried on December 14, 2023. He was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration for all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in our hearts forever. He is survived by his grandchildren Lukas Jung, Fabienne Colemont, and Damian Jung; his daughters Rebekka and Chantal Jung; his niece Heike Sodekamp, and his sisters Brigitte Jung and Annemarie Bayer.

Wilfried grew up in Kirchhoven, Germany, and was a Master Sergeant of the German Air Force, retiring in 2012 in New Mexico. His engineering skills and passion for seeing the world led him to places all the way from Germany to Denmark, Hong Kong, England, Canada, Singapore, and many more. He was a beloved father and friend to many and an avid motorcycle and model train enthusiast. His enthusiasm for craftsmanship was brilliantly showcased through his creation of the Carlsbad model train railway system at the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center and his numerous motorcycle rebuild projects. He generously shared his expertise, acting as a mentor to anyone eager to delve deeper into his craft. In honoring Wilfried's rich legacy, we celebrate a journey that spanned continents and touched countless hearts.

We hope you are riding a motorcycle wherever you are now. A celebration of life will take place on April 27, 2024, at Heart of the Desert at Eagle Ranch in Alamogordo from 11am to 1pm.

I met Willi and Tiger at the Carlsbad Museum. His Carlsbad train exhibit was a classic picture of the city! Love and blessings to his daughters and families.
