Will Jennings and I were members of a small brotherhood. We lived our lives channeling language into music. Lyricists is what they call us. I don´t know if Will and I saw ourselves that way. Along with a few others, we were more like a tiny band of gypsies who moved from place to place, year after year, tinkering with tunes, inciting emotion, dancing and moving on. Will was a chief in our tribe. His words were a direct, uncomplicated hotline to the human heart. He was a magic worker and we won´t see another like him. Love , John Bettis

Grateful for Will's global hits, some of the most moving popular songs of the era, full of sincerity, mature emotion and real meaning. Songs of this calibre can carry human beings through life's challenges, help us find new direction. Up Where We Belong is a personal favorite to listen to, play and sing.

RIP, Mr. Jennings. My sincerest condolences to your family and loved ones. Thank you for writing and co-writing some of my most favorite music. Your heart will definitely go on and has shown some of The Finer Things that life has to offer. Not that I ever would have met you but makes me feel good knowing that I shared a town with such an amazing talent. Thank you, sir.
