Willard "SCOTT" Vaughan passed from this life Tuesday, July 22, 2014; having lost his battle with Alzheimer's, yet he won the victory. He was born into this life Friday, November 2, 1928 to Willard Cleo and Julia Scott (Boozer) Vaughan in Salinas, TX.

Scott grew up and lived in Shallowater, TX; He attended Shallowater High School and married his high school sweetheart in February 1948, and was happily married for 51 years. He was a farmer most of his life. Then he went to work driving a truck for Dekalb. He was a gentle soul and never met a stranger. He loved music and taught himself how to play his favorite hymns on the piano. He loved to make people laugh and believed a good cup of coffee could solve almost any problem.

Scott was preceded by his parents Willard Cleo Vaughan and Julia Ann Boozer; a sister Ann Clark; a wife Patsy Vaughan; and a son Tim Vaughan. He is survived by: Daughter Julie McComas of Shallowater; Son Marshall Vaughan of Lubbock; Granddaughters: Andrea Perkins of Euless, Jamie Smith of Shallowater and Marsha Carroll of Milton, WI; Great-Grandchildren: Shayla Miller, Daniel Foerster and Luke Nichols of Shallowater; Joree Cisneros of Minneapolis, MN


A graveside service, to commemorate Scott's 85 years of life, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Nick Matthews officiating. the family will greet friends for 5-7 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock.
