I cannot believe it's been 5 years since he left us. Except that you never ever left us Dad! You couldn't, because the love you gave to each of us, the bond we have for each other is so real, so profound that it's part of our lives every single day. I spent a few minutes with Zelda Forgan, Ben and Jessa today. There really are no words that can ever fully express the gift you gave everyone who knew you, the generosity of spirit, the twinkle in your eye, your amazing resilience, your humor, your gift of knowing exactly what to say. Whenever I feel the least bit down, all I have to do is think about you and you lift me up. Being your daughter was the greatest blessing ever. I love you and miss you, Julie

Bill,

You continue to walk alongside of both Julie and me everyday providing us with reminisces of your unique wisdom, humor and love.

We miss you but find that you remain larger than life in our lives.

Your pal and son-in-law,
Bob

When I first met Bill was I was a junior salesman for Anixter in San Leandro Ca. He and Alan had flown in for a day or two. I was pretty 'green' but, he struck up a conversation with this little "no buddy" (me). He asked if I was a veteran and I said, 'yes sir...two tours in Vietnam'. He gave me a big smile and said, 'welcome to the family'. I had no idea that he was a veteran at that time...but, I thought...'wow what a class act this guy was"... I stayed with the company for 10 years! Best job I ever had!

To my long lost third(?) cousins, please accept our sympathy on the loss of your father. I don't need to tell you what a great man he was. I will always be grateful for all he did for me and taught me when I was just starting out. I have been in touch with Nancy, but wanted to reach out to all of you as well.

I am lucky to have been a part of the Anixter family going back to 1983. I was fortunate enough to have known both Bill and Alan and always appreciated their love of family (which always included the entire company). That love of family and loyalty have stayed with me in my 33 years with the company.
My deepest sympathies on the loss of such a wonderful man.

Julie and Family,

So sorry for your loss. While I joined Anixter in 1988, your Dad's legacy was fully intact and remained that way for a very long time. Everyone always spoke so highly of him. He gave you the same passion for people and the company. I'm forever grateful and proud to have had the privilege to be part of what your family built.

In sympathy,

Julie, so sorry about Bill...he was such a nice man and reading his story in the Tribune this morning brought back so many great memories of my many years at Anixter as John Pogott's assistant. Condolences to your family.

It was a pleasure to be a part of the Anixter "family" as I worked part time for over twenty years and was a fireman with the Chicago Fire Dept. We were always treated well. It was with sadness that I learned of Bill's passing.

Bill,

You were a real pal to me, as you were to so many. In return, you were my favorite father-in-law.

I will love and miss you forever.

Your favorite son-in-law (as you told each of us, separately, that we were),

We have only known Bill for five short years being residents of Vi@Silverstone. Bill was the class of the classiest residents. He always had a greeting with a smile. We could not imagine he had an enemy in the world except for those he fought in WW II.

Sincere condolences to Nancy and the family.

Sincere condolences from Cele Rogoff Klairmont's granddaughters, Ina Turchen Schneiderman,(Michael), Marla Turchen Pierce(Tom), and Jamie Turchen (Rhonda). Billy, like our father, Marvin, lived a full and productive life. As a child I so enjoyed hearing family stories and being brought up to date from Great Aunt Zelda and my Grandma Cele. The Rogoff family was huge and the siblings remained close through the years. May the entire Anixter family find comfort in their many memories.
