Springfield
William Thomas Appleton, 82, passed away on September 22, 2023. Born in Springfield on March 14, 1941, he was the son of the late John & Nellie (Serafino) Appleton.
He was a longtime resident of the Monson Development Center, before moving to Pathlight Residential Support in Springfield.
In addition to his parents, Billy was predeceased by his brothers, John & Ralph Appleton and sisters, Mary O'Master, Jeanette Ott & Ann Petty. He is survived by several nieces & nephews and will be missed by the dedicated caregivers of Pathlight.
His family wishes to thank the staff of both the Pathlight and Monson Developmental Centers for the compassionate care provided to Billy over the years.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, September 29, 8 a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Billy's 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church; burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to the Pathlight or Monson Development Centers.
